Encouraging friendly competition and a heartfelt thank you
Some milestones come with ease and at rapid speed, and then there are those milestones that take a wee bit longer but are still worth the effort.
Reaching 300 followers on Medium has not been easy. Let me tell you! It’s partly due to the time it took to understand its flow and find personal traction — which is still the case. A catch 22 I suppose.
Building anything, especially in new territory, can sometimes be challenging and intimidating. While we try not to compare ourselves to the next writer, we have our moments when we do. Hey, we’re human!
By nature, we are supposed to grow and expand, and while the comparison and wonderment can creep in uneasily, it also challenges us to keep going to obtain goals.
I have a cool friend who always encourages me on this unorthodox journey, and I do the same for them. The twist, however, is that we openly encourage competition with each other.
