Led to Put My Faith in the Church and I Don’t Know How to Feel About That

The last time I attended a church was about a week before I left my hometown. I was driving to Target to get some weekly items; a typical Sunday for me and on this particular day I took a different route that led me down a road where people were setting up chairs for morning service outside of a small white church.

It was odd, but then again, not really, as this was in 2021 during the thick of covid. I’m not sure why it intrigued me as my practices during that time contradicted the practices of the church — or it could be my assumptions as a lot of church goers would not understand one who practiced witchcraft/the occult.

I’ve since dialed back those practices or rather put a freeze on it as my faith in that, as well as other spiritual practices and religion’s has left me questioning belief systems as a whole. However, that’s a write up for another day.

Anyway, my intrigue prompted me to park the car and attend the service.

Walking up to the walkway where a woman greeted me with a warm welcome and acceptance was weird for me. Not that she was disingenuous, I just felt awkward being there.
