8 tips to get back out there and mingle
About a year after leaving a long-term relationship, I went on a date with a man who wasn’t the ideal specimen for lack of better terms. It was the first date in a very long time, and it felt all around awkward. I could sit here and harp on all the “flaws” that he had or rather the things that no longer appealed to me but this isn’t about him.
The dating game can portray itself as something either brutal or a sense of finesse but I think it depends on how you initially go into it. At that time, I was lonely and wanted to feel a sense of normalcy (the energy of old) considering the disarray that was happening in my life during that time. However, after embracing some me time, healing, and reflection on what I prefer in a partner, I feel more ready to get back out there and have fun exploring the dating terrain.
Anyway, I have some ideas on how I want to approach dating moving forward.
