I Know Nothing About Content Writing But I May Have Been Doing it this whole time
Taking steps to monetize my writing
I post content to social media almost every day and for the past few years, it’s been a mixed bag of flow. Some posts gain major traffic while others lay dormant on the algorithm curb. To add to my mix of scripts, I’ve created event newsletters and emailers as a former office manager for a bank, wrote a self-tale for a magazine in Tampa, and of course, written a plethora of verses here on Medium. So, with all this writing, how have I not honed in on a writing niche? How have I not noticed that I’ve been doing content writing all this time?
Content writing — after finally googling what it is — holds a few subdivisions. Two of which fall under what I personally do at the moment: blog writing and social media posts. More specifically, in the area of mental and emotional wellness.
I guess this means I could possibly turn what I do passionately into a career that won’t kill my energy or sanity.
Refining and educating
While my past posts might not quite fit the structured “professionalism” of content writing, I’m sure with some reworking and further research I could utilize what I’ve already written and create a seamless portfolio. How…
