Words from my heart

Entry #1

The weight of what surrounds us sometimes ripple within us. The stirs of emotions cause cataclysmic waves in a quarry. We ride its currents when the pressure pushes in and we want nothing more than to be back on high ground, steady, and at peace.

We yearn for the memory of comfort and the tangibility of genuine love. We wish upon stars and beg the moon for sanctuary but the emotions still run rampant. They corner us by adding increasing pings to the heart, pains within the body, and recycle memories of past hurts all to get us to feel.

With each raging bull of emotion, they shout, “Feel! Feel it and set yourself free!” but the commotion and overwhelm are sometimes too great. The immense torment can bury us in darkness if we allow it. We diminish who we are by covering up the pain with outside temporary sources. We cover up the pain by lashing out and shifting it to others. We cover up the pain because feeling the pain scares us.

The suffocation will continue unless you surrender. The uneasiness will continue unless you wave the white flag.

Are you ready to feel?
